The Stand In played its 199th and final show on June 15th of 2007 in a dark and dingy basement in New Brunswick, New Jersey. It was a night to remember in a basement that was way too small for the amount of people who showed up.

TSI was formed from the remains of a band called Ugly Stick in 2003 with the release of the CD entitled Analog Decline. This CD contained some of The Stand In’s best known songs including No Stars Left In New Jersey and Last Transmission. Every song from this CD has been used on various television shows on MTV, VH1, A&E, HGTV, ABC, Noggin and others.

In 2004, Uh Oh, I’ve Been Stabbed was released and The Stand In began playing shows with reckless abandon. Over the next 2 years TSI played 139 shows in nine states up and down the eastern coast of the U.S.

The final release, entitled A Bro Collective was recorded in the summer of 2006 and featured two new members. With the new members, the sound and energy changed and the momentum eventually faded.
